Boursin Cheese Orzo Sausage Bake
Ingredients
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic
- 1 cup sun-dried tomatoes,chopped (oil-packed for added
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 lb Italian chicken sausage
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian chicken sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare the Orzo: In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the orzo and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain any excess liquid if necessary.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked orzo, cooked sausage, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, chopped spinach, and Boursin cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish,spreading it out evenly.
- Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the top is slightly golden and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
